Bonjour à tous, and Wanju

Finally, over the next two weeks, we will see the impact these exponential, technological advances have on education currently and in the future.

Living on the Future Edge - PART IV

“We can’t just pretend that education is somehow immune to the fundamental and disruptive global changes”

I don’t need to create a list of all the 'gadgets' (apps) that have come into our life, and continue to, from the last 15 years. There have been many. Mobile banking, streaming services, internet radio, e-readers, etc. It has not just been the gadget – but the services they provide that have provided the disruption to our lives.

We are seeing all kinds of work disappearing because new digital technology can either replace these jobs or send them overseas.  When we talk about 21st Century Enterprise skills we are describing the skills needed to actively engage. These skills include critical thinking, problem-solving, being innovative and creative, learning and working in teams and being complex communicators.

As we have seen in our presentations on the New Work Order research by Youth For Australia, there is a growing disconnect between the structure and function of schools to society. This report is from 2015 but is the foundation required for our understanding.

New Work Order PDF

When you are across this understanding, you will find more recent research and the associated reports completed by FYA on the world of work at the link below.

Our Reports: The New Work Order Series - FYA

None of this addresses the, So What? That is what is the implication for us. That will be our final installation, next week, in this series of Living on the Future Edge.

Have a great week
