From the Principal
Frank McCourt, one of my favourite storytellers, taught in New York’s schools for many years. In his book, “Teacher Man”, he says, “First day of your teaching you are to stand at your classroom door and let your students know how happy you are to see them.”
And so it is for me as I once again join you all for a little while. I am very happy to see you all once again. I think I’ll be here until the end of term while Mike recovers from his surgery. He’s making great progress.
We work in a fabulous profession and Market Day reminded me of the extraordinary commitment that school staff, teaching and non-teaching, make to the wellbeing of students at Bunbury SHS. Many thanks to you all!
Staff Meeting Tuesday:
I will not be at the staff meeting on Tuesday, therefore, can I make a couple of statements here:
- As we move towards the end of term, and, as students complete assessments and course work, please plan carefully to maintain their engagement in meaningful tasks. It only takes a few people to convey the wrong message for our work to become more difficult.
- Please ensure that published deadlines for submission of data are adhered to. Year 11 students should be given every opportunity to complete tasks.
