From the Principal

Bonjours a tous.
Aujourd’d hui je suis a Albany.
I write this, this afternoon from my motel room where the sunny condition of Bunbury has given way to grey clouds of Albany that always feel like they are threatening rain. All the South West principals have gathered for the twice-yearly regional conference. I have already had some pre-conference meetings with some small groups. For the next two days, the agenda is jammed packed with some very interesting things on the horizon, including the new process for Principal Performance Review.
This week on Wednesday and Thursday John Burke, Principal of Bob Hawke College, will be in the school. I have invited him to do some follow up work from the Public School Review. We created a very narrow scope around some of the recommendations for him to dig a little deeper to give us more information on plans for improvement in those areas. I have scheduled for some of you to meet with him. I know that it is a busy time but I really need and appreciate your input. The review and the corresponding improvement plans will help us continue on our way to being the excellent school we are.
The PCs will also be out of the school on Tuesday but Kelly has made plans to cover for the Executive Team. They will only be local and will be available should there be a need for them.
Finally, the staffing is all coming together as some of the leadership roles in the school begin to be filled. There are still others to go and I strongly encourage you to put your hand up should something sound interesting and challenging to you. Congratulations to the following staff who have won the roles below:
Head of Year 8&10: Nghia Nguyen
LSC: Inga McQueen
Follow the Dream: Asharie Bradshaw
Science PC: Catherine Simmonds
Prefect Coordinator: Kim Nimmo
Maths fixed term: Adam Bond
Jamie Turnbull is the recommended applicant for the Shedworks Program for 2022 & 2023.
