STAFF WELLBEING
Bunbury SHS is committed to creating a mentally healthy workplace. We want to ensure our workplace is somewhere people look forward to coming to every day, and where everyone feels supported.
Why is this an important issue?
We all know how difficult it is to achieve our best work and cope with general life when we're going through a tough time. It may surprise you that statistically, one in five of us is likely to be experiencing a mental health condition right now. Your wellbeing is important to us - it's part of our commitment to you. We also have a responsibility to make sure each and every one of you is safe while you're at work and that applies to both mental and physical health and safety. However, creating a mentally healthy workplace is everyone's responsibility, and we all have a role to play in our own self-care.
What can we do to help you with self-care?
As a school community working together, we can create a culture of self-care by making it an explicit focus. Whilst individuals may differ in what strategies work for them, support for self-care from our executive and leadership team can strengthen this culture. This might mean providing time, resources, and a budget towards supporting staff wellbeing and self-care. The benefits of self-care are invaluable and some of the best ideas can be free.
Over to you!

By taking action, we'll improve productivity, strengthen our relationships and reputation with our students and colleagues and make this an even better place to work – for everyone. Let's all make sure we support each other and work together to make this a truly great place to work. I look forward to your feedback, involvement and ideas!
