Bonjour à tous, while we have all been working very hard, too hard, it is important not to be overwhelmed by the work we have in front of us.  It is much more empowering to look at what we have accomplished. Remember that although life appears to be rolling along as normal, the threat of lock-downs and COVID outbreaks looms large in the community psyche.

For more than 12 months now you have been working hacks around the ever-changing conditions, sometimes during your holidays. While the whole time continuing to advance the School Business Plan and vision for creating successful pathways, developing enterprise skills and high quality teaching by embedding the instructional framework and feedback strategies. We have made remarkable progress that I’m sure the Semester 1 learning area reviews will show.

Please take a breath. Collectively I have seen great progress; the number of peer observations has increased, student feedback and teacher reflection is part of the Learning Area Semester review, our pathways have expanded to include the ECU Uniprep course, we have done PL in PBL and are in the middle of preparing for the implementation of a social and emotional learning program and although partially in limbo due to building concerns the Shedworks Program continues to evolve.

As we work through the semester review take time to celebrate both the student progress and your own.

This is a reminder to the staff on duty on the second floor that lower school students have limited access to the upstairs verandas. Specifically, they are only allowed on the upstairs veranda that are closed in. The open verandas are for senior students only.
