Bonjour à tous, and Wanju
A high performing school can be measured by the quality of student outcomes. But more over it is measured by the culture, structures, and procedures that it has.  Even great schools will have behaviour incidents.  It is how a school responds that quantifies its quality.

As we celebrate World Teachers Day this week take some time to think about all things that you contribute towards what makes Bunbury Senior High School a great school. The three stages of wholes school improvement guide everything that we do.

  1. Getting the preconditions for whole school improvement in place.
  2. Building capacity through the use of an instructional model and collaborative teacher planning
  3. Focus on classroom practice using theories of action for teaching.

It is no accident that two of the three stages are a focus on teaching. John Hattie indicates that teaching efficacy is the greatest single factor of student outcome.

I cannot thank those teachers enough who are regularly using our shared instructional Framework.  This has been made easier now by the magnets distributed to every classroom.

Our Peer Observation framework and access to coaches, mentors and peers to assist with process indicates the values that we put on it.  Thank you also to the many teachers accessing this opportunity.  It is totally funded for you.

Lastly the current focus on PIVOT is supporting teachers not only to develop good teaching practice for students with ASD but also differentiate their teaching for all students.

Please enjoy the week and know that your efforts in these areas area really appreciated.

Have a great week.

En Avant
