Bonjour à tous, and Wanju

We are so often improvement-focused that we spend a lot of time looking for the small areas of weakness that we overlook the large areas of success. Awards are great recognition for a job well done. They cause us to stop and celebrate the accomplishments.

At a time when we are focussing on keeping a lid on student behaviour to finish the year off strong, please let me draw your attention to a couple of accolades for the school. Friday, I spent the morning with Pharell Keats (Yr 12) and Xyd Estorninos (Yr 11), as they received medals in the WorldSkills Australia Competition. This is a prestigious competition with the opportunity to compete internationally. This weekend Paul Reynolds flew to Melbourne to accompany Yi Xie and her family as she received a Young Australian Art Award – Computer Art, for her artwork. These come on top of two positive newspaper articles in the West Australian and The Bunbury Times recently about the quality of our school.

All staff play a vital role in establishing the quality of this school. From the setting of the physical environment by the cleaners and gardeners to the support provided by the paraprofessionals in the administration, student services and classrooms to the obvious classroom teachers. It takes a village to raise a child and our village is humming.

Congratulations to all staff.
