Autism Spectrum Disorder ASD is a lifelong neurological condition that affects how students learn and behave at school. ASD looks different for all individuals, they may have poorly developed social skills, have difficulty with expressive and receptive communication and have the presence of restrictive and repetitive patterns of behaviour, interest and/or activities.
Adjustments § Visible timetable/Lesson Outline - For students to refer to throughout the lesson - Does not have to be fixed, you can make changes § Equipment - Have equipment students can borrow - This will assist with organisation § Task Analysis - Break tasks down - Give small chunks at a time - Post-it notes work well § Breaks - Let students take a break - Set clear guidelines for what a break looks like - Use a timer
