From the Principal

Bonjour à tous.

I hope that everyone took advantage of the beautiful weather across the weekend. The South West Festival of Japan and the Japanese film festival ran across the weekend also and the weather certainly helped. I hope that you were able to have some distractions from work. Each term as we get to the business end of term, the pressure of our work sometimes affects us more than we realise. Please look after yourselves and remember to look after your colleagues also.

As you know I will be on leave from this week.  Please welcome Greg Slavin into the position of Principal while I am away. If there is anything that you may need, I have complete confidence that the team will be able to help you. Please give Greg a little space early this week to get himself set up.

The external school committees all met last week. The Board, P&C and Alumni. All of them are really picking up their pace. They are an integral part of the school and a support mechanism for staff and students. The Board is working on strategic direction, P&C is looking for opportunities beyond the Cafeteria and Uniform Shop to support the school (watch this space) and the Alumni are hard at it getting a launch activity off the ground. Fully functioning, the Alumni will connect ex-students, resources and support with current students.

Please enjoy the week and be kind to each other.

    Staff meeting

A reminder that Tuesday is a staff meeting in the library. An agenda has been sent out earlier with a focus on the SEL program. Absences need to be cleared through Greg Slavin

    Year 12s

Staff are encouraged to keep abreast of the school calendar with quite a number of events and activities taking place. Particularly with the Year 12s and their end of time with us approaching quickly. For the Yr12 ATAR students, they have examinations, both WACE and school, during the holiday period. Yr12 examinations requiring typing need to be given to the Front Office by Monday 13 September.

    Parent Interviews

Big day Wednesday 15 September with our parent interviews happening. The good news is the coffee van will be there.
