Heard on the Hill Term 2, Week 9
From the Acting Principal

Kaya
Welcome to Week 9, Term 2! The end of term is upon us with finalising marks and grades the priority for this week. Reporting is an important element in the cycle of teaching. It does not just present a summary to the student of their academic achievements across their subjects or courses. It gives us an opportunity to use the data for improvement in our classes. The information in RTP allows teachers to reflect on the progress of individual students. The ability to compare a student’s current grade to NAPLAN, or previous semester grades is a great reflective tool. Couple this with peer support through classroom observations will lead to small improvements in our teaching methods and student outcomes.
I will make reference to an earlier statement from Mike that still is prevalent now – “it is also flu season. Please look after yourself and continue the handwashing regime we learnt during COVID as it is still the best way to avoid getting sick. Look for ways to manage your workload and maintain your health”. With Country Week around the corner it is important to look after ourselves during that week to alleviate absences as much as possible.
On Monday we had an assembly recognising our Country Week team for 2023. Thanks to Mark Longbottom for MCing (it’s a word now) the assembly. Introducing the students in their white Country Week jackets is a strong image that I hope encourages the lower school students to be part of in the future. Thank you to the staff attending Country Week; its is a big commitment but I believe you all will enjoy the week. On behalf of the school, we wish you all the best and look forward to seeing the shield once more.

Nuts and Bolts
CCTV
This week should see CCTV cameras installed around the school. Protocols around the use of CCTV is being drafted and will be released through the leadership team.
A copy of last week's Leadership Minutes can be found below.
Workload Advisory Committee
Workload is often the main cause of staff stress or anxiety. Our school has a workload advisory committee, which was set up as part of our focus on Staff Wellbeing in our previous business plan, and which we continue to support through the new Staff Wellbeing Committee.
Staff Representatives for this year (continuing their 2 year tenure) are: Renee Chapple, Luke Marinoni and Adam McGill.
If you have workload issues, please discuss them first with your line manager, as many of these can be resolved quickly and easily.
If you have an issue that cannot be resolved, please submit it via either the survey link provided here, or on the document below (which can also be found in the School Templates folder on your desktop.
Social Media Content
We love seeing students in action, whether in a classroom setting, in an incursion or off-site for an excursion or camp.
If you are conducting any activities you think are suitable for our school's Facebook or Instagram pages, please submit your content through the link below.
Please contact me with prior warning if you would like me to attend a session, lesson, activity etc if you would like me to take photos/videos to accompany your story.

If you have taken photos on your phone/iPad and are unsure of how to transfer these to me, please send me an email or come and visit me and I can assist you.
